Catering students at The Isle of Wight College were given the fantastic experience of a professional masterclass recently, held by a team of development chefs from mainland company Essential Cuisine.
During the day the students worked in teams to produce their own dishes using products from the Essential Cuisine range and local Isle of Wight produce. Each team of students produced 2 dishes, which were judged by the Essential Cuisine chefs on presentation and taste.
Restaurant manager Emmanuel Ferdinand says:
“It was an amazing experience for the students to work alongside such talented chefs and I am really proud of the high standard, quality dishes they produced on the day”.
Essential Cuisine create, develop and produce delicious ingredients and products, and are committed to helping young learners all over the UK to develop their skills, knowledge and expertise within the catering industry. They are now an official partner of the hospitality and catering department at the Isle of Wight College, and will continue to work closely with the students.

“It is a real privilege for our students to have the opportunity to experience and benefit from the skills and knowledge of such an iconic and well recognised food producer”.
