The threat of 2 trees crashing down onto the highway has led to the decision to implement an emergency closure on Briddlesford Road near Downend today (Friday).
Island Roads say that Briddlesford Road will be closed between Downend Roundabout (Robin Hill/Long Lane) and Lynnbottom Tip from 09:30-15:30 – or until works have been completed.
It’s said that the closure is to enable contractors to fell 2 trees which are at risk of falling onto the road.
Islanders wishing to access the tip will need to do so from the Wootton end.
