2 separate individuals sighted on the cliff top at Culver Down led to a large emergency response to the East Wight beauty spot this morning (Saturday). 2 Coastguard Rescue Teams, 2 ambulances, multiple Police units and Bembridge RNLI were involved in the simultaneous incidents, which began at around 09:15. Fears for the welfare of the 2 males led to Coastguards from Bembridge and Ventnor being mobilised, alongside the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary. Bembridge RNLI’s D-Class inshore lifeboat was launched to support the response to the sensitive situation. Both individuals were talked down and taken into the care of paramedics for onward conveyance to a suitable healthcare facility. The incident came to a close around midday.
