Quarry Road in Ryde has been closed this afternoon (Tuesday) to allow emergency gas repairs to be undertaken.
The residential road off St John’s Road has been closed between its junction with Sandcroft Avenue and Well Street for a distance of 61 metres.
SGN engineers are on site and are working to repair a gas main.
Motorists should divert locally using Longmead Road, Weeks Road, Millward Road and Well Street.
The closure could be in place for as long as 21 days but is expected to be lifted this week.
