A blaze ripped through a farm building on the outskirts of Ryde during the early hours of this morning (Monday). 4 appliances from Ryde, Newport, Sandown and Shanklin – and a water carrier – were mobilised to East Ashey Manor Farm, off East Ashey Lane, at just before 01:00. Fire crews worked through the night to tackle the fire, measuring 25 x 15m, which destroyed the roof of an outbuilding. Firefighters remain on scene this morning damping down the area. The cause is currently unknown.
