33-year-old Emma Elliott has been banned from getting behind the wheel for 32 months after crashing into a parked car whilst 4x the drink drive limit.
As first reported by Island Echo, Police were called to Clatterford Road in Carisbrooke on 18th November. Officers arrived at the scene to find that a 2009 Kia Picanto – belonging to Elliott – had careered into a parked Ford Focus.
Having failed a roadside breath test, Elliott, of Victoria Road in Newport, was taken into custody where she provided an evidential breathalyser reading of 136 – the legal limit being 35.
She was charged with drink driving and appeared before Magistrates on 2nd December, where she pleaded guilty to the single charge.
Now, Magistrates have sentenced the 33-year-old having had time to read a pre-sentence report compiled by Probation.
Emma Elliott has been handed a 32-month driving ban and an 18-month community order with 200 hours of unpaid work attached. She must pay £85 costs and a £114 surcharge.

It might make a difference( maybe) if insurance companies refused to pay out for damage to a DD car..In theory, they won’t..
They don’t pay out if you crash whilst drunk and possibly persue u for the damage caused to others

It will also be hard for the people who had their cars damaged to get her insurance to pay out.Many insurance companies say no insurance payouts of any kind to anyone if you drive drunk
Bloody good thing too! This Government should make it a mandatory 5 year driving ban for anyone found to be drunk/drugged up while driving. Zero tolerance!

Yeah I remember, I also remember saying if all the numptys down there actually parked on their drives or spent some money on having a drive constructed then this pisshead wouldn’t have damaged one of there cars. There’s no need to park on the rd down there, and I’ve heard it will get doubled yellow lines soon.
