An unmanned open sailing boat, adrift in the Solent, led to the launching of Cowes RNLI lifeboat this morning (Thursday).
The Squib class ‘Rhapsody in Blue’ had apparently broken from its moorings off the Fishbourne-based Royal Victoria Yacht Club. After launching at 07:05 the lifeboat located the boat off King’s Quay and towed it to Trinity Landing, Cowes.
The lifeboat returned to station at 07:50.
