Teams are being invited to take part in this year’s Wessex Cancer Support Dragon Boat Race at Island Harbour.
The fundraising event will take place on Saturday 26th September, with crews competing in heats for a place in the final.
Teams of 11 – 10 rowers and 1 drummer – are required, with entry costing £360 and a fundraising target of £1,100.
Hannah Dunford, Isle of Wight Fundraising Manager for Wessex Cancer Support, has said:
“We’re really excited to bring this back. Last year, despite the relentless rain, the event was a huge success, raising £20,000 for local people affected by Cancer.
“Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a complete beginner, this high-energy challenge is perfect for everyone.
“This year, come rain or shine, there will be an after-party!”
Last year’s event saw 10 teams take part, raising £20,000, with WHBrading crowned champions.
