DOGS BLAMED FOR ‘WOOFTON’ CRASH

policeroadMan’s best friend has been blamed for a minor road traffic collision in Wootton this morning (Saturday) that resulted in damage to a lamp post, wall and to the vehicle involved.

Police were called to High Street, Wootton at around 10:00 following reports of a vehicle having travelled down the A3054 before colliding with a lamp post near to Tesco Express, as first reported by Island Echo.

Island Echo understands the road traffic collision is being blamed on dogs that were inside the vehicle, who knocked the car out of gear causing it to travel around 300 yards down the busy main road. The handbrake was not fully engaged.

Thankfully no persons or animals were injured in the collision.
