A doctor at St Mary’s Hospital, who has now been suspended from practising, is to stand trial at the Isle of Wight Crown Court next year over allegations of sexual assault.
Dr Chiemedo Ikpo, 48, of Redwood Close in Newport, has pleaded not guilty to 2 counts of sexual assault.
It is alleged that Dr Ikpo touched 2 women – 1 on 2nd August 2020 and the other on 8th August 2020 – whilst at St Mary’s Hospital.
The 48-year-old appeared at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on Wednesday where the case was adjourned for the trial on 20th February 2023.
The Isle of Wight NHS Trust has confirmed that Dr Ikpo’s General Medical Council (GMC) registration has been suspended.

Of course not. As in the case of the taxi driver a few weeks ago whose accusations were thrown out if he is found not guilty that will be that. However, hopefully I am wrong and in that case and if a not guilty verdict is returned then the accusing parties will be charged. – Don’t hold your breath though.
