UPDATED: Police are investigating a death at a property in the centre of Ryde this morning (Tuesday).
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service mobilised an ambulance crew and officer to a residential address on Lind Hill off Lind Street shortly before 11:00.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the person’s life could not be saved.
Police remain at the property in their numbers but they are not thought to be treating the passing as suspicious at this time.
UPDATE @ 15:20 – Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed that a male in his 40s has died.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
