Three pumping appliances from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are this afternoon (Monday) tackling a large field fire in Gurnard.
Crews were called to the scene at Dukes Farm near Rew Street shortly before 13:20 after receiving reports of a field well alight.
Island Echo understand an area of 100m x 60m is ablaze.
Two water carriers from Ventnor and Freshwater are in attendance alongside appliances from Newport and East Cowes.
UPDATE: Firefighters have successfully extinguished the blaze, which has charred a large field near to the northern coast of the Island.
