A COVID-related death has been recorded at St Mary’s Hospital according to the latest data, meaning a total of 3 deaths have now been recorded since 7th April.
The fall in the number of deaths from COVID-19 demonstrates that the vaccine is having the desired effect, with over 75% of the Island now protected with at least 1 dose.
A total of 156 people have sadly died with or from COVID-19 at St Mary’s, with a further 137 deaths within the community. It takes the total to 293.
The graph below shows all COVID-related deaths on the Island since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
Cases continue to climb on the Island with 39 recorded yesterday (Sunday), taking the total to 8,248 recorded cases on the Isle of Wight to date.




























































































The vaccine is helping, however it is not going to prevent further cases or sadly deaths, cases will rise considerably with tourists travelling to the Island, this will inevitably lead to an increase.
Please be considerate to all and play your part, in keeping cases as low as possible.
