CORNWALL MAN WITH ’10 INCH’ KNIFE ARRESTED IN EAST COWES

A 30-year-old man from Cornwall has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon after he was seen with a knife in East Cowes earlier this afternoon (Friday). Officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary were called shortly after 13:05 following reports that a man was seen walking with a knife in his pocket. 1 Island Echo reader who witnessed the arrest described the blade in question as ’10 inches’ in length. A 30-year-old man from Truro, Cornwall, has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon. He remains in custody while our enquiries continue.
