UPDATED: The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance at The Foyer in Ryde this morning (Saturday).
3 appliances from Ryde are on the scene at George Street having been mobilised to reports of a fire at the youth accommodation building at around 08:00. A fire officer is also in attendance.
It has been confirmed that the alert has been sparked by a cooker fire, which thankfully was out on arrival of the first crews.
Residents and staff have been evacuated.
UPDATE @ 08:40 – Fire crews have now stood down from the incident and residents have been allowed back inside the building.
No one has been injured.
