A rapist serving life in prison pushed a prison officer, rendering him unconscious, whilst incarcerated at HMP Isle of Wight last year, a court has heard.
Asif Ali, 43, now of HMP Parc in Wales pleaded guilty to 1 count of assault by beating of an emergency worker when he appeared in front of Magistrates this morning.
Liz Miller, prosecuting, told the court that prison officers attended house unit 19 at HMP Isle of Wight at 15:30 on 25th September 2021 asking Ali if he would like to take a shower. Ali – who was COVID-19 positive at the time – became agitated when asked to put a mask on.
Ali became increasingly confrontational and entered the direct personal space of the officers in the cell with him, refusing to follow prison regulations.
The 43-year-old then pushed 1 of the officers backwards hitting his head on the cell wall and forcing the officer to lose consciousness.
After the incident was resolved and the officer received medical attention, Ali was sent to the segregation unit where he served almost 6 weeks in solitary confinement.
The defence said that Mr Ali and the affected officer didn’t have a good relationship and that prison management had advised the officer that they were best not to associate with one another. He added that Ali had no issue with any other officers on his unit.
The serial offender is serving life imprisonment after he was found to have raped a grandmother back in 2004 – just 7 days after being released for a previous rape conviction.
Ali was transferred to HMP Isle of Wight – where there are multiple sex offenders currently imprisoned – to serve a part of his sentence but has since been moved to a prison in Bridgend, Wales.
As a result of this latest offence, Ali was handed a 5-week custodial sentence and was ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £128 – payable on release.

Imagine if a British man was given a safe land in which to live and totally abused the kindness by raping a Grandmother in that land, or as has happened SEVERAL times, gangs deliberately singled out young white girls to rape time and time again.

Odd how people and our Government can see the harm and thus banning certain breeds of dogs and invasive flora into the UK but are blind to allowing in unchecked beings from dubious backgrounds.
Perhaps it is because they will never have to live amongst, work with, travel or holiday with, have their children educated with or socialise with anyone who has not been strictly vetted, whereas the rest of us has them dumped upon us and with few Police, weak sentences and prisons already full of their kind, one can only think the race card is now far stronger than the law.

So he has another 5 weeks added to a life sentence, as well as a fine ‘payable on release’? What a pathetic sentence to hand down. Why not give him solitary confinement for the rest of his natural? Sentences like this are a joke and criminals know how to play the system.

As you say “payable on release” when it says he’s serving a life sentence. You would think Life meant Life.
