Bus drivers across the Isle of Wight are once again getting into the festive spirit – by sporting Christmas jumpers this December in aid of charity.
Southern Vectis workers are raising money for the operator’s official good cause, Mountbatten, and pulling on the seasonal sweaters is their latest fundraising initiative.
Richard Tyldsey, General Manager at Southern Vectis, says:
“Our drivers are a festive bunch and they’ll be donning colourful Christmas jumpers throughout the month, in aid of this very worthy cause.
“And, on Sunday 14 December, The Christmas Bells and friends will be Newport Bus Station, handing out mince pies and spreading some festive cheer – whilst at the same time raising money for Mountbatten.
“We thought this would be the perfect time to help our charity partner.
“It is a crucial local resource, supporting people with death and dying, and also offering relatives and friends free bereavement support.
“We’d like to raise as much money as possible, whilst providing our customers with a little festive fun this December.”
