UPDATED: Firefighters are this afternoon (Sunday) tackling a small chimney fire in Gunville.
One pumping appliance from Newport Fire Station was called to the property on Gunville Road at around 16:00.
The single crew are working to extinguish the fire from within the property.
UPDATE @ 16:45 -An aerial appliance is now in attendance at the incident alongside one pumping appliance.
Police have closed one side of the road and are directing traffic safely past the scene.
UPDATE @ 17:25 – Fire crews have now left the property having successful extinguished the fire.
Gunville Road has fully reopened.
