UPDATED: A child has been involved in a collision with a car in Shanklin this evening (Wednesday).
Emergency services including Police and paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are currently attending the incident on Landguard Road, outside the Co-Operative store.
Island Echo understands the youngster was crossing the road on a scooter when the collision occurred at shortly before 17:10.
UPDATE @ 17:45 – A boy is being treated by paramedics for injuries sustained to his legs.
Their condition is not life-threatening.
The road remains open and Police are clearing the scene.
UPDATE @ 18:15 – The youngster is said to have escaped with cuts and bruises and has escaped any serious injury.
