The chairman of Blue Seas Protection, Garry Oates, has denied charges of dangerous driving and assault occasioning actual bodily harm at an Isle of Wight Crown Court hearing.
Oates, of Fort Street in Sandown, appeared before Magistrates on 19th April accused of driving his car at – and injuring – a traffic marshall during a car boot sale at Sandown Airport. The incident is alleged to have taken place at the entrance to Scotchells Brook Lane shortly before 11:30 on 26th June 2021.
The court heard that the victim sustained leg injuries in the incident.
The case was sent up to the Crown Court where the 62-year-old appeared earlier today (Tuesday).
Not guilty pleas were formally entered and ‘Captain’ Garry Oates will now stand trial in November this year.
