CCTV images of a man attempting to steal a laptop from the Co-Operative store in Ryde earlier this month have been released by Police today (Thursday).
The suspect, aged between 23-35 years old, headed straight to the electrical section of the supermarket in Anglesea Street at around 10:00 on 1st April, forcing the lock on the protective cabinet and removing a laptop – however once he realised he was on camera, he dropped the laptop and left the store towards George Street.
Just a day before, the same man is said to have attempted to steal digital cameras.
Now, an appeal for witnesses to come forward has been launched by Hampshire Constabulary. Anyone with information is asked to contact 101. Information can be given anonymously by phoning Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
The unknown suspect is described as around 6ft tall, of medium build and was wearing a red long sleeved hooded top, black rimmed spectacles, jeans and trainers at the time of the incident.
