Sandown came alive with vibrant colours, music and community spirit last night (Saturday) as the town hosted the first carnival of the 2025 Summer season.
Thousands of spectators lined the streets to enjoy the main procession, which featured a dazzling array of floats – notably of higher calibre this year – alongside talented performers and local groups showcasing their creativity.
The season normally gets underway in Newport, but for 2025 Sandown had the honours – and it once again proved to be a highlight of the carnival calendar, kicking off several weeks of celebrations across towns and villages.
