policeroadclosedUPDATED: Emergency services are attending a road traffic collision at Brook this afternoon (Saturday) where a car has come to rest on its roof.

Two appliances from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service from Newport and Freshwater were called to the scene on Brook Road near Chessell Pottery at just before 16:15. Police and ambulance crews are also in attendance just off Middle Road.

Details of any injuries sustained are currently available.

UPDATE @ 17:00 – Island Echo understands the occupants of the vehicle were trapped inside after colliding with a tree, however have been led to safety by a passer by ahead of the arrival of fire crews.

The two passengers are now in the care of paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was placed on standby, however has since been stood down.

No serious injuries have been sustained.
