UPDATED: A suspicious car fire is being extinguished by the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service in Bembridge this evening (Saturday).
1 appliance from Ryde was mobilised to the scene on Embankment Road at around 19:35 with crews discovering the burning vehicle upon arrival.
The alarm of a fire in the open was raised after black smoke started billowing into the skies above Bembridge Harbour at 19:20.
Police have been called to the scene in open wasteland, the same location where a vehicle was dumped following a fail to stop last month.
UPDATE @ 20:27 – Firefighters have now extinguished the blaze and are making up in preparation of returning to station.
The vehicle – believed to be a Peugeot 205 – has been gutted.
Police have attended the scene and have recorded information relating to be incident.
