A busy road in Ryde has been closed by Island Roads to allow for emergency repair work by Southern Gas Networks.
Pellhurst Road has been closed between Pell Lane and Arthur’s Street for a distance of 136 metres.
The closure comes as children return to school following the Christmas break, which could cause some issues for parents dropping off and collecting students of Ryde Academy.
Motorists are being diverted via Argyll Street, West Street, Swanmore Road and Upton Road to rejoin Pellhurst Road. Alternatively, Ratcliffe Avenue remains open as normal.
