BURST WATER MAIN CAUSES SUPPLY PROBLEMS

southernwaterResidents living in East Cowes have been hit with water supply problems this evening (Wednesday) due to a water main that has burst in the town.

Those living in the upper half of East Cowes are being affected with many residents reporting that they are without water completly. Areas affected by the burst main include Hawthorn Meadows; Crossways Road; Nelson Close; Greelands Road; Victoria Road and surrounding areas.

It is also reported residents living in Northwood are without water.

A Southern Water spokesman told has Island Echo:

“We have dispatched a crew to find and fix a burst water main near the power station in East Cowes.

“We are isolating the burst to maintain water supplies to customers.”
