Properties in the Elmfield area of Ryde were without water this morning (Wednesday) following a burst water main in the area.
Those living in the area of Bullen, Elmfield and Appley lost supply at around 04:00 when a pipe burst on Bullen Road, Westridge.
Engineers have been working on site and restored water supplies at around 08:00.
A Southern Water spokesman said:
“We are sorry that some customers in Ryde lost their water supply, or had low pressure, this morning.
“Some customers may notice discoloured water coming from their taps for a short while. This is quite normal after a burst and the water is harmless.
“If this happens, run a mains-fed cold tap, usually a kitchen tap, until the water clears”.
