A body has been found during the search for a missing man from Newport.
The discovery was made in Gurnard near to Cowes at around 20:00 last night (Wednesday) during the search for missing 50-year-old Michael Hawkewell, who was last seen in Cowes on Friday.
Search and rescue teams from WightSAR were deployed to assist Police earlier in the afternoon.
Although formal identification is yet to take place, the family of Michael Hawkewell have been informed of the discovery.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
