UPDATED: The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are responding to reports of a boat fire in Cowes this morning (Saturday).
2 appliances from Newport are on scene at Cowes Yacht Haven following reports of a fire on board a vessel.
Crews were mobilised at around 09:00.
Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team are also on scene.
UPDATE @ 09:40 – Fire crews have now stood down from the incident.
Island Echo understands a fire broke out on a boat whilst at sea, but was extinguished by the crew prior to the arrival of firefighters.
No one has been injured, but significant smoke damage has been caused.
