8 properties on the Isle of Wight have gone under the hammer, the latest to be sold at auction by Clive Emson Auctioneers.
They are among 187 lots listed across southern England in latest auction by Clive Emson Auctioneers.
Rob Marchant, regional director and auctioneer covering the Island, said:
“Our October auction saw eight properties sell on the Island, including three in bidding wars. We anticipate post-auction sales too.”
On 0.37 acres, a 4-bedroom Victorian detached house, freehold, at 67 Victoria Grove, East Cowes, sold for £217,000, which was £117,000 more than the guide price (lot 113). The property currently provides 4-to-5-bedroom accommodation across 3 floors.
With structural damage, a detached 3-bedroom bungalow went for £174,000 in a bidding war, with 53 bids. Glenhurst, Hunts Road, St. Lawrence, Ventnor (lot 147), sold for £144,000 above guide price.
A former hairdressing salon at 50A New Road, Lake, Sandown, went for £62,000 in a bidding war, with 20 bids made. The freehold property sold for £17,000 above guide price (lot 20). Joint auctioneers were Gully Howard.
On the remainder of a 999-year lease from 1973, at a current ground rental of £5 per annum, is one-bedroom Flat 3, Richmond House, 4-5 The Strand, Ryde, which sold for £74,000 (lot 103).
With its own private access to the rear, and use of a shared communal garden, a town centre maisonette with split-level accommodation had a guide price of £70,000 – £80,000. The one-bedroom property at 5 Anglesea Street, Ryde, sold prior to auction (lot 183).
Vanity Fayre, a double-fronted freehold shop with large rear stores at 27 High Street, Sandown (lot 94), fetched £78,000. It traded as a popular and profitable gift shop for many years and was sold due to retirement.
Freehold, Whitecliff Lodge, Hillway Road, Bembridge, a detached, 3-bedroom bungalow in need of renovation, went for £240,000 (lot 115).
A freehold workshop/store at the back of 3 Church Street, Ventnor, originally believed to be a coach house, fetched £28,000 (lot 92).
