BEMBRIDGE LIFEBOAT ASSIST STRICKEN YACHT

rnlibembridgeBembridge RNLI are this evening assisting a stricken yacht that is drifting in the seas off of St Catherine’s Point. 

The crew launched shortly after 17:05 by Solent Coastguard after an emergency call by a currently unknown yacht was made reporting engine problems approximately 3 miles south of St Catherines Point.

Unable to control the boat, the yacht is currently being assisted by the voluntary RNLI crew members before being towed back to the nearest port.

 UPDATE: The yacht was towed back to Bembridge Harbour. Bembridge RNLI lifeboat returned to station shortly before 19:30.
