Police have arrested 2 men during an incident in Newport which has seen around a dozen officers descend on Bluebell Meadows tonight (Monday).
It was just before 21:15 that Police responded to an address on Wellesley Way, to what has been witnessed as an aggressive and high-tension situation involving a number of individuals.
Locals say the situation has been developing all evening – and has accumulated in at least 2 males being detained and taken into custody.
In total, 7 units are in attendance at the scene including an Armed Response Vehicle and a Dog Unit.
The entire area is blocked by the large Police attendance.
It’s understood a vehicle parked in the vicinity is of interest to Police.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has been approached for a statement, with further information expected on Tuesday morning.
