AMBULANCE CREW CALLED TO BULLEN CRASH

bullengolfcrashUPDATED: Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are this afternoon (Friday) attending a road traffic collision on Bullen Road in Ryde.

Crews were called to the scene at around 12:30 following a 999 report of a vehicle having been involved in a collision.

The red VW Golf has sustained severe damage to the passenger side of the vehicle. The driver, believed to be a male, is being attended to by paramedics and has been placed in a neck brace.

Police and fire crews are not currently present at the scene and the road remains open in both directions, with members of the public guiding traffic past the incident.

UPDATE @ 13:35 – The male driver of the VW Golf has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital this afternoon.

Recovery of the vehicle has been arranged.

UPDATE @ 16:00 – Following an assessment and treatment at hospital, the driver has been discharged.

It is understood another vehicle was involved in the incident, however drove off from the scene.
