The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was called to assist a patient in Wootton earlier this afternoon (Sunday).
The charity-funded helicopter was requested by the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service to airlift a patient from the town, with the red and yellow chopper landing at Wootton Recreation Ground.
Crowds gathered to witness the good work of the HIOWAA and to see the helicopter when it landed at 14:20.
One ambulance crew and a rapid response paramedic from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were in attendance.
