A 32-year-old man has been arrested following a 2-car-collision on the main route into Cowes last night (Thursday).
As previously reported by Island Echo, emergency services including officers from Hampshire Constabulary alongside ambulance crews and an operational commander from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service attended Cowes Road after being called at around 20:45 last night.
A BMW 3-series convertible and a Fiat 500 both sustained significant damage in the collision, with each vehicle coming to stop a significant distance from one another.
The driver of the BMW has suffered a broken leg and was conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital following the collision yesterday evening.
Meanwhile, a 32-year-old man from East Cowes was arrested at the scene, although Hampshire Constabulary is unable to provide information on the suspected offence committed.
