Fears of a fire developing inside a residential property – with persons potentially trapped inside – saw 3 appliances rush to Binstead tonight (Friday), alongside police and paramedics.
It was just before 21:15 that Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue mobilised resources from Ryde and Newport to an address on Arnold Road, just off Binstead Main Road.
At the same time, the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service deployed an ambulance crew to the scene, with police on response and patrol also blue lighting to Binstead – a standard response for the type of emergency.
However, firefighters quickly established that there was no fire and no persons in need of rescue.
Thankfully, the situation was not as first feared and crews were quickly stood down.
Any explanation for this extremely expensive farce?
What an expensive waste of resources for a hoax.
