9 students and 2 staff members are self-isolating as a result of a confirmed case of COVID-19 at the Isle of Wight College in Newport.
As a precautionary measure, those identified as being in close contact with the infected individual have been told to stay at home.
This latest case was confirmed over the weekend.
The College remains open for all other students.
24 students and 10 members of staff from Christ the King College are also self-isolating, as previously reported by Island Echo.
Year 4 pupils at Lanesend Primary School are also at home following a positive test result within the school community.
A new variant of Covid has now been identified and is being tested at Porton Down to see IF the vaccine(s) are effective against it.
This is apparently the version which the South of England now has.
So worrying times, again.
Unless this is a trick to keep everyone from getting too ‘comfortable’ and slack over Christmas.
Problem is, don’t know who or what to trust anymore.

They can dictate our lives now, can raise taxes, raise fuel, even take our cash now it is all electronic, give more benefits, take it back, stop us driving, cut child benefit, give more child benefit, raise inflation cut costs etc etc IF it is over crime, then they could end much know serious crime from newcomers to the UK.
Can’t ‘see’ what the gain is to them, which they can’t do anyway?

We all seem to have forgotten the Chinese government. Did they create this virus so that it could mutate to cause mayhem throughout the world.?
Viruses always mutate. Nature of the beast. The more people who have it the more chance there is for it to mutate. Which is why we must observe the restrictions so that vaccine will be effective and get this under control again.
I’m sure more places than Porton Down are reviewing these mutations. I am not sure what your goal is by using their name?
As for trust, I can see why you may be in doubt. The only people you should trust are the scientists. They operate in a environment of peer reviews and checks. All of their work is checked by other very qualified scientists. They do not ask you to believe and they do not state ‘truths’. They just deliver facts and their interpretation of these facts.
For the time being, if you’re asked to take the vaccine then please do so. You’re protecting yourself and your family and friends.
