Fire crews from Sandown and Shanklin have freed a person trapped inside a lift in Shanklin this evening (Monday).
2 appliances were mobilised to Abbeyfield on Queen’s Road to carry out a lift rescue at around 19:00.
Once on scene, firefighters worked quickly to release the individual.
Didn’t think it was open
It is now!

Abbeyfield is a retirement/sheltered accommodation facility in Shanklin, they are not talking about the cliff lift.
