Motorists are experiencing delays in Arreton following a minor road traffic collision this afternoon (Thursday).
A car has mounted a verge after the female driver suffered a medical episode at the wheel.
It’s understood a number of other cars have been hit during the incident, which has occurred close to the cycle path crossing between Arreton and Horringford.
Island Roads have stopped to assist Police at the scene of the crash and operatives are directing traffic in both directions.
Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are checking over the driver.
The main Newport to Sandown road remains open, although there may be further delays when recovery of the car – a Renault Scenic – takes place.

Bit of a nasty comment when states she had a medical episode at 5he wheel ?
I assume Steve was berating an earlier poster. However, by deleting the first post IE has made Steve’s remark into an orphan post.
Almost certainly a highly sexist/misogynistic comment from one of the usual suspects. Good on IE.
Was it Ron?
Hi Steve. Have left you a comment on the power cut report. Perhaps you could take a look.
Do we know reason?
And why? Medical episode so that’s all you need to know.
Hope the lady makes a full recovery.
Thoughts with the lady involved; I hope she recovers well and a huge thank you to all our emergency services on the island
