This half-term, The Royal Hotel and the Isle of Wight Youth Trust are encouraging Island kids to get into the Christmas spirit and show off their artistic talents.
Children aged under 12 who live on the Isle of Wight are invited to submit up to 2 designs, using any method they would like, with 1 or more lucky designs to feature on The Royal Hotel’s Christmas card for 2017.
In addition to having their design featured on The Royal’s Christmas card, which is distributed to guests and friends of the hotel, the lucky winner will also be treated with 2x children’s afternoon tea at The Royal Hotel.
But, you have to be in it to win it! That’s why all Island kids are invited to submit a design for the front page of an A5 card in portrait or landscape (148mm x 210mm that is A4 folded in half) and send it to the Youth Trust by Sunday 5th November for a chance to win a fantastic prize from The Royal Hotel.
This exciting competition is the latest collaboration between the Youth Trust and The Royal Hotel, which has a long history of supporting the Youth Trust’s work and is a Gold Corporate Sponsor of the charity.
William Bailey, Managing Director of The Royal said:
“We are excited with our partnership with Isle of Wight Youth Trust. This project is designed to encourage children to get creative and have the opportunity for their creative flair to be recognised. It is also a great chance for children and young people and their families to get involved in a fun activity.”
Mairead Healy, Executive Director of the Youth Trust added:
“Our Youth Mental Health Census revealed that 43 percent of young Islanders turned to art or music to help cope with emotional difficulties. This competition is a chance for fun with young islanders to channel their creativity in a really positive way, and it’s also an opportunity for them to have their talents recognised.”
Designs can be created using any craft material (paint/crayons or even glitter!) and be as creative as you like. Once you’re happy with your design(s) send them to: Christmas Card Competition, Isle of Wight Youth Trust, 1 St Johns Place, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 1LH or email them to [email protected] with the subject line The Royal Christmas Card Competition.
Entrants are asked to include their name, age, telephone number and email address along with all design submissions. Full terms and conditions can be viewed at www.iowyouthtrust.co.uk.
