A 27-year-old man has been arrested after a woman was violently assaulted in Binstead during the early hours of this morning (Monday).
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has launched an investigation into the incident, which is said to have occurred in the communal car park of Rufflers Way, off Binstead Road.
A woman sustained head injuries in the assault, but her injuries are not life-threatening.
She was taken to St Mary’s Hospital, Newport for treatment.
Police have confirmed that a 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
He remains in custody at this time.
