A woman is to appear in court in relation to an incident in Sandown last year during which Armed Police shot and killed a dog which is said to have been dangerously out of control.
As first reported by Island Echo, Police were called to Golf Links Road on the night of 19th July 2020 after an animal attacked at least 2 people – including the accused.
Armed officers took the decision to fatally shoot the dog.
Now, Charlotte Harriet Louise Mathers, 43, of Jellicoe Road in Ryde, has now been charged with being the owner or person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury. She is accused of being in charge of a Staffordshire Cross Ridge Back which caused injury to a Mr Lachen Downs, contrary to the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.
Miss Mathers will appear before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
