Wightlink has released its winter timetable for 2021-22, which includes a cut to the Yarmouth-Lymington service.
It has been revealed that the Yarmouth-Lymington route will be cut to a 1-boat service for the majority of the time, including all weekend. A 2-boat service will only run between 08:00-12:00 midday (from Lymington) between Monday and Friday.
A 2-boat service will be in operation on the Fishbourne-Portsmouth route, whilst the Fastcat catamaran from Ryde Pier Head will remain on an hourly timetable.
The winter timetable is in force from Monday 1st November 2021 to Sunday 27th March 2022.
John Burrows, Fleet and Operations Director, says:
“We have assessed forecast demand for our services outside the busy summer months and believe this timetable will offer sufficient sailings for everyone who wants or needs to cross the Solent this winter.”
Or in other words:

Not supplying a service to the islanders. Only to holiday makers. And our MP supports them. I wonder if he has any ties with the ferry companies????

I love the island and always have but regretfully the ferry companies have one interest and it’s MONEY !
