Wightlink have announced that, due to a mechanical issue on one of their ships, some customers on the Yarmouth to Lymington car ferry service may experience delays of up to 2 hours.
Due to the mechanical issue, the 13:05 sailing from Yarmouth has been cancelled with customers to be accommodated on the 15:05 service instead.
A spokesperson for Wightlink said:
“Due to a mechanical issue on one of our ships, some customers on our Lymington to Yarmouth car ferry service may experience delays of up to 2 hours today, Tuesday 19th September.
All booked customers will be accommodated on the next available sailings. We apologise for any changes to your travel plans.”

Yet another day yet another delay at least Wight Link are consistent
Methinks all those who have had to wait for TWO hours should be compensated with their full payment refunded!!!!!
So true, it affects ones travel schedule.
Wightlink are so unreliable thesedays, hence more reason for a
bridge or tunnel to be built.
No delays then, also better for families visiting their loved ones
in Pompey or Southampton Hospitals.
Put prices up a bit more then you can fix em or just scrap them and build a bridge
Only 2hr delays .. well done Wightlink .. finally some improvements… one day .. maybe a week without service failure … pigs might fly !!
That’s what happens when you run a 1 boat service in the off season. Wait till the 1 boat breaks on a busy afternoon…
