Thanks to a £1,000 grant from WightAid, Independent Arts’ Anxiety Café group can look to the future.
Anxiety Café offers people living with anxiety a chance to try out a series of creative sessions to help manage their condition using the Arts. Sessions are held on Wednesday mornings 10:30-12:30 at Newport Methodist Church small hall. All the staff and volunteers who support the sessions have experience of anxiety.
Project Manager Hannah Griffiths said:
“We are so pleased to have received this funding from WightAid to help continue the work of our daytime Anxiety Café Group. It has really helped transform lives of those who come along.
“It has been lovely to see participants trying new things like dance, crafts, Tai Chi and singing, getting out of their comfort zones and supporting each other.”
