UPDATED: At least two cars have been involved in a road traffic collision this evening (Thursday) on the outskirts of East Cowes.
Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are on scene alongside Police at Whippingham Road at the junction with Alverstone Road.
Three people are believed to have been injured in the incident.
The road has been closed in a southbound direction with traffic being diverted via Alverstone Road (north).
UPDATE @ 19:22 – No one is believed to have been seriously injured in the collision, however one female has been conveyed to hospital.
Traffic remains heavy in the area whilst recovery of the vehicles involved is arranged.
UPDATE @ 20:30 – The scene has now been cleared.
