UPDATED: Police are attending a two-car road traffic collision on the outskirts of Newport this evening (Wednesday).
The incident has occurred near to the Isle of Wight Lavender Farm on Staplers Road at the junction with Blacklands Lane.
Island Echo readers say the road is blocked with debris across the carriageway. The road is closed in both directions.
No one is believed to have been seriously injured in the collision.
Southern Vectis Route 9 buses are diverting via Fairlee until further notice.
UPDATE @ 19:05 – The incident has now been cleared with both vehicles recovered.
Southern Vectis buses have resumed their normal route with the road now open in both directions.
