UPDATED: Three vehicles have been involved in a road traffic collision on the outskirts of Newport this evening (Tuesday) which has led to rush hour delays heading out of the town.
Police and ambulance crews are currently attending the incident on Blackwater Road near Newclose Cricket Ground having been called to the scene at shortly after 17:05.
Traffic is delayed by up to 25 minutes in the area, however is beginning to ease. Traffic on Sandy Lane is reported to be heavy with motorists diverting.
No one is believed to have been seriously injured in the incident.
UPDATE @ 18:10 – The incident has now been cleared and traffic is flowing in both directions, however remains heavy.
Southern Vectis services are slowly returning to timetable.
