A new sophisticated personal aid is now part of equipment at the Rehab/Stroke Unit, thanks to the Friends of St Mary’s.
For the first time, therapy staff working in the unit’s gymnasium have their own sit-to-stand aid.
The aid has been supplied at a cost to the Friends of £1,207.
Physiotherapist Caroline Bird said:
“It’s brilliant that we no longer have to borrow an aid like this from a ward, to complete assessments and transfers.
“Our efficiency is improved as we longer have to search elsewhere for an aid, and perhaps wait for it to become available.”
