Wootton’s Tesco Express store will close its doors on Sunday evening to enable the start of refurbishment works which will last over a month.
The supermarket giant has confirmed that the High Street store will close at 18:00 on Sunday 25th April and will re-open again on 31st May at 08:00.
During the works, Tesco will be installing new fixtures and fittings as part of the refit.
A spokesperson for Tesco has said:
“We’re pleased to be refreshing and upgrading our Wootton Bridge Express store to offer an even better experience for our customers.
“To allow the works to take place the store will close temporarily from 25th April and reopen late May and we apologise for any inconvenience for our customers during this short closure.”

I really don’t understand the way some businesses run these days.
I had a friend from school who worked for a firm which refitted shops.
They would go in after closing on a Friday, and the store would be ready to trade on Monday morning!
I appreciate Tesco aren’t ‘strapped for cash’, but business is business!
From what I gather the shop is being gutted and everything including the floor is being replaced, and an extension out the back. So I assume its more than a weekends work.
Obviously more than a weekends work!!
Hopefully they something to put your shopping bag on at the tills because at the moment it is hopeless.
